vagina monologues
I’m going to see the infamous Janny Li perform on February 15 at UCSD. The last and only time that we met was at Sizzler’s during a speech getogether. I doubt she’ll recognize me, but that’s not what I’m going for. I heard she’s a great performer. Although, it wouldn’t hurt to introduce myself again.

Consumerism
Let me start out by saying that I love the free economy. I love capitalism, globalization, entrepreneurialism, and all the economics that Karl Marx ever pissed his pants about. You know it’s one of the greatest things ever when you can walk down a row of shops knowing that you have more choice than anyone else around the world and the financial capacity to buy the things you desire. Maybe...

It's alive!!
So I decide to try and turn on my car this morning and guess what happens? It starts! I don’t know why it decided start working all of a sudden (or suddenly break down, for that matter) but I’m sure glad it did. The check engine light is also on, though, so I still need to bring it to a mechanic. Hopefully it will let me drive to and from school on Monday without breaking down. In...
I am LOSING it!
I caught a cold three days ago, and it’s driving me absolutely nuts! My body feels achy all over, and the top of my head generates a tingling sensation that goes all the way to my feet if I try to move something other than my fingers. This is worse than the time I ran four miles in the rain. School starts Monday and my car’s still broken. Ugh.

why is transparancy so fascinating?
why is it that people who open up their lives to the online world seem so fascinating to others? it seems to have become an obsession to learn about other peoples lives - people who you don’t even know. do you feel like you know so much about them just by reading their blog, learning about their downfalls, their hopes and accomplishments or maybe the fight they had with their significant...

Old friends don't die
I just saw my buddy Jennifer today to go running at the park. I’ve known her since… oh, I don’t know, elementary school? That’s a long ass time ago. It was great seeing her again. No matter what we talked about, we understood each other. I found that to be strange, in a cool kind of way… especially since we didn’t really speak to each other during high school....

The closest to hypothermia I'll ever get
It started out with my normal fifteen minute walk at the Rose Bowl. The clouds hung ominously overhead and the sharp, cold wind was blowing in my face. As soon as I finished stretching, I felt a raindrop on my skin. “Shit.” I thought the rain would eventually stop, so I began my four mile run anyway. Despite all alarms going off and all senses defrosting, telling me to go home, I kept...

To avoid the most absurd generalization, I will say that most people value exclusivity and will try to be unique as they possibly can. It’s almost written in stone—being original is just fucking awesome. But when something isn’t really original anymore and becomes somewhat mainstream, wouldn’t you say it’s a bit hypocritical to turn your back on it? When I was in...

In 2007, all that I wanted to listen to was rap and lucky for me this was a great year for the genre. 5. Kanye West - Graduation 4. Jay-Z - American Gangster 3.
